About Us

October 1, 2015

For many years both CIMS and Atlantic Packaging have been building reputations for bringing the highest quality products and services to industry. The similar goals and ethics shared between the companies has resulted in a move to provide customers with broader product offerings and skill with CIMS and Atlantic Packaging joining forces. CIMS customers should expect to see the same 24/7 service that they have come to expect combined with the technical skill and broader product offerings of Atlantic Packaging.

CIMS will continue to operate as an equipment manufacturing company with a primary focus on Laser Guided Vehicles and specialty equipment and service. Atlantic Packaging will take the lead in all packaging materials, films and stretch wrapping equipment and will be the source for those items.

Service of all existing and new film equipment will be provided by the same people CIMS’ customers have known and trusted for the previous 26 years, combined with the significant technical and sales resources of Atlantic Packaging. Atlantic, a 70 year old privately held company, has numerous US locations including a major facility in Atlanta, but will retain a presence in Dalton, Ga.

…history

In 1989, two Auburn University engineers with complementary, yet diverse areas of expertise, decided to merge their fascination with equipment and knack for innovative design to create a new kind of company. Their goal was to provide the area's carpet manufacturers with a better way to wrap and ship their products and to combine that service with outstanding quality and customer service.

The two founders brought unparalleled experience in engineering and design. In addition to his degree from Auburn, Alan Little had a Masters degree from Purdue University and had worked at Burlington Industries. Mike Peeples brought his engineering background as well as several years experience with IBM to the company.

CIMS' early emphasis was on supplying stretch film and stretch wrapping equipment to the carpet yarn industry. In 1992 the company moved to its current location in Dalton. As the company grew, and as customer needs changed, CIMS expanded to provide a wider array of products and services.

Today, CIMS product offerings include a full range of custom material handling equipment and Laser Guided Vehicles. We also provide system integrating services and custom process equipment.

This exceptional array of products is backed by an uncompromising dedication to quality and superior field support.

While the company's products have expanded, the leadership and personnel have worked hard to remain true to their original mission statement and company objective…

”To provide the highest quality products at competitive prices and to support them with the best service in the industry.“
